It happens tonight....
everything is in place. The time is now.

Miniaturization
Maggie works on some of the complex miniatures coming into play for this party.
You'll see what they are.
Jacob's Ladder
Charlie and I working on improving the lighting in the Fakehouse with a SPECIAL light.
So Far to Go
We spent another 5-6 hours today working on the party. Got the blacklight up, the second projector running, and started on the some of the miniatures.
Everything is really coming together well. This is going to be SO spectacular, I get giddy when I think about it. The sheer scale and epic scope of this bewilders me. We're now all part of something so much bigger than ourselves, something that will fucking rock.

The Bearded Men of Space Station 11
I will not shave until the day of the space party. My rebirth will be like that of the phoenix, risen from the ashes and redolent of aftershave.
This is my solemn vow.

the bridge ascendant
This is, more or less, the command console for the Spacehouse. It's not finished.
entrance
Charlie's hanging up the drop cloth in the entrance area and lighting it from behind.
On the day of the party a complicated sound system and a series of lights will...well....I don't want to ruin it for anyone. Suffice it to say that your minds will be totally blown.
spraypainting
Here I am spraypainting the bridge, outside in some junkyard behind the fakehouse.
The fumes were choking.
things taking shape
Just got back from decorating for the space party. Spent a good, I dunno, 5 hours taping and spraypainting cardboard. We got a lot of stuff done, and had some good proof-of-concept thing work out, but we still have a ton of shit to do.
Where there is a will, however, there is a way. We must do this. I want my epitaph to read "space party".
This will be the defining moment of our generation.

The Rocking-Horse Winner
I met up with Charlie and Ben later at a BBQ, and this is what Charlie was doing. Over and over and over.
This is what a man who successfully handed out flyers looks like.
Space a-go-go
My attempt to hand out flyers last night was largely a failure, due to the awful rain. I managed to leave a stack at AKA records, though. Hopefully some people will see "Space Party" and have their interest sufficiently piqued.
Charlie and Ben, however, seem to have had way better luck. Not only did they buy astronaut jumpsuits, but they went to clubs and bars all over the city and handed out flyers while dancing.
The buzz here for this party is like a beehive. This is going to be monumental.
Hopefully this weekend we can get some decorating done. The time is really fucking nigh.

Flyers
Charlie and I went to Kinko's today and copied about 1000 flyers for the space party. Look out for us in old city on this horrible, grey, dreary, soul-crushing first friday. There probably won't be anyone there to give them too, but whatever.

MAKE ROCKET GO NOW
This will be blasting off on Saturday, June 18th, no doubt destroying most of the neighborhood.
Be a part of the magic.
Spaceship Screens
Our first projector will be showing stock footage of space missions, scenes from space movies, and a visualization Charlie cooked up of our solar system where the planets pulse to the music. Our second projector (that's right) will be rear projected onto a sheet we'll be stretching out to the left of the main screen, and will show the Fakehouse's progress on its moon mission.
